Great Grandmother to 24 family members *l

by Georgina
(Las Vegas, NV)

Nov. 7, 2010 there were 25 of us on the Carnival Splendor. We had a nanny with us for the 3 little people. Took us a year to get this together. One couple was in the army stationed at FT. Campbell, KY. Some live in WA. state & the rest of us are from Las Vegas, NV. The first night was very enjoyable & as many know, we wound up dead in the water approx. 6 am Mon. Even tho the ship shook like a #7 earthquake, we really did not know if we were being hijacked. Our younger ones whose staterooms were on 2nd Deck had partied hardy the nite before & were hard for the stewards to rouse. The senior adults wete on Deck 7. The rest of us were told to report to the upper deck. And so we all rallied up finally. What a sad lot the 20+ yr olds were. Well we all still had a great time, very much family bonding & since the fun rooms were closed, we found a large dance floor, sitting room to stay in. The babies 1-2-&3 yrs old dance the days away on the floor that was lit. We played many different games. Fortunately we had brought a case of our preferred wine, a bottle for ea. over 21. The mid age drank warm beer, (yuk) but The Carnival Splendor was very congenia & did what they could. Staff was great. Food, what food. But the babes had dry cereal & bananas. I had a bag of Halloween candy & one of our members was diabetic, so he got most of that & staff keep his insulin on ice.

The Ronald Regan Aircraft Carrier was a real highlite, it was so close to us, we could see the saiors faces. Being able to flush the Heads was really great. I used my computer for lite in the bathroom. Fortunately it had been fully powered up. The Chiquita Tugboat from Mexico, was really neat & did a great job.

Carnival CEO came aboard ASAP when we got to San Diego & was very gracious to the passengers. Many KUDOS, MAHALOS, to the Company.

We as a family did survive & made the BEST of it with what we had. Part of our family is on the Mexican Riviera (NINE) of them right now. Rest will follow in May.

The ALLRED, JONES, BARRERA, PECK, IGLINSKI'S,AMAYA.
